We recommend printing these directions. Note that in this deep forest, GPS drift may be a problem.
To get to this cache, park on the gravel lot at the snow gate and head downhill past the (probably) closed brown gate. Walk about 180 feet and find a trail heading into the woods on the left. Follow this for about a tenth of a mile and you will then be on an old logging road that’s not on any maps we know of. Turn left, downhill. This old road/trail leads to your quarry location. The way is mostly cleared of logs and brush so this should be a nice easy hike through the forest. Follow your GPS to find the cache.
The road gets progressively older and more primitive but is cleared all the way to where you must leave it and head into the wilds of Ent-land. Careful crossing the bridge you will encounter at the ½ mile mark!
Once you reach 45 32.045 x -122 7.533 leave the trail/road and head due west for about 600 feet to find your quarry. (If you think this is a spooky forest in the daylight, you should see it at night!!) There is an old cat track/logging path that follows a shallow arced trajectory a few dozen feet north of the straight line path mentioned that has seen some very recent light clearing and goes directly to the cache location. If you can find it, your trek to the cache will be easier than a straight line directly through the forest, avoiding the many logs and uneven ground. This route clearing may be part of a plan to do some logging in this forest. I certainly hope not!
Follow your GPS to find the cache. Good luck, and enjoy.
