New Lisbon is located on the beautiful Lemonweir River in central Wisconsin. According to Native American history , the area known as New Lisbon was used as a winter location for hunting and trapping. During the railroad heyday, New Lisbon was a bustling center for railroad activity, providing service for industries as well as passenger service.
New Libon is ust off of Interstate 90/94 (Exit 61) with easy access to all of Wisconsins great attractions. Locally there is the Lemonweir River & Castle Rock Lake for great fishing. Plenty to do and explore with fishing, boating, hiking, cross-country skiing, ATVing and snowmobiling. Theres also the nearby Elroy-Sparta State Bike Trail, as well as the Omaha Trail.
Geocachers that have been around for a few years, probably recall that there was a nice trackable hotel acros the street from here, in the parking lot of the travel center there. https://coord.info/GC1VWRK for details. That nice TB hotel was placed in 2009, and was archived in 2017 after 689 finds. You may also recall that the travel center was shut down for many years, but is now open again.
This is just a quick PNG in a place that I do a fluid exchange often inside, and also let Rustie out to smell the grass.
