Geocache Description:

This is a (an?) historical marker, recognizing the 564th Missile Squadron in Montana for their role in supporting the nuclear ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) that would have, at one time, made Montana the 5th largest nuclear power on the planet...  Assuming Montana was a country...

As you'll see in the information sign, the 564th Missile Squadron grew out of the WWII 564th Bombardment Squadron - - - which included my father as one of the pilots of the B-24 "Liberator".

Next to the historical sign there is also a memorial marker for the residents of the area around Valier MT who perished in the 1964 flood.  This massive flood from June 7 & 8 of that year claimed many lives, on both sides of the continental divide.  You can read about it at https://www.greatfallstribune.com/story/news/local/2014/05/25/50th-anniversary-1964-flood/9563135/

You will need a pen/pencil to mark the log sheet.
