Welcome to the Yelm Prarie Line Trail. This trail starts in Yelm and will eventually run 4.5 miles to Roy, and when completed is forecast be part of the larger Washington Cross-State trail system. You can learn more on the YPLT Facebook page. (link opens in new window)
This is a Big Leaf Maple tree, even though it's not too big yet. The Big Leaf Maple is native to the PNW and is sometimes called an Oregon Maple. It has the largest leaves of all maple trees (duh), but is also the tallest. The Big Leaf Maple often has lichen or moss growing on it's branches, but this tree is too young for that yet.
