Geocache Description:

Cache is a square plastic container filled with "bugs". Cache is dedicated to Uncle Remus's wonderful stories about Brer Rabbit.

BRER RABBIT

Most Americans know the story about Tar Baby and Brer Rabbit and the Briar Patch. The folk hero of these tales was Brer Rabbit. He outsmarted all the other animals, especially Brer Fox. Joel Chandler was the first person to write folk tales about Brer Rabbit. Uncle Remus was an old storyteller he created to tell the stories in his books.

The cache box is located in a wooded patch behind the Skaneateles Community Center. This center is a hub of activity year round with a skating rink, a fitness center, and an aquatic center. Admission is open to all, either on a daily or an annual basis.

Below are some good links to the center, community organizations, and some Brer Rabbit stories (for the kids).
