HELP! - Helping Everyone Love Puzzles!
This is a short series intended to help those who struggle with solving mystery caches. Each geocache in the series can be solved in a different way. The title of each cache tells you the method to solve.
Puzzle 11 - Alternate Coordinates
The standard coordinate datum format used by most cache owners and the official datum of geocaching.com is WGS 84 (World Geodetic System 1984). Even using WGS 84, there are different ways to display coordinates. Most often, geocachers will see Degree - Decimal Minute (N DD° MM.ddd W DDD° MM.ddd). Google maps automatic formatting is WGS 84 Decimal Degrees (DD.ddddd° N DDD.ddddd° W). Another popular WGS 84 format is Degrees Minutes Seconds (N DD° MM' SSS" W DDD° MM' SSS").
There are many alternate formats that can be used. Below I have shown many different formats for the posted coordinates. (This is not the final location for this cache.)
WGS 84: N 39° 11.702 W 104° 52.088 or 39.195033 N 104.868133 W or N39° 11' 42.12" W104° 52' 5.28"

Another method is to give the solver the antipode coordinates. This gives the location on the opposite side of the world from the cache.
Antipode: -39.195033°, 75.131867°
These are only some of many different methods to figure out where you are on the earth, or where you are trying to find.
Now see if you can use the following information to find where the final cache is hidden.
