A creature, with the most peculiar characteristics and emerges most commonly on Saturdays in the fall, has appeared in numerous locations lately. It is known in the world and in captivity as … the Surrender Cobra!
Defined as “a hands-atop-head pose, similar to the cobra, it is made by fans witnessing unexplained sporting events or when their team’s loss seems all but inevitable”. I have seen this creature way too much this year!
When it comes to college football in the South, my blood runs Orange and Blue. At the start of every season with all our team’s talent, I have always been a believer that we could go all the way! That may not be the case this year as there may be a hex on our team. Numerous games have had unexplained outcomes due to blind referees or poor offensive performances. (Don’t get me started with penalties! When there are so many Yellow flags on the field from those in Black and White, I see Red!)
Our inability to move the football is a problem and the real solution may require better play calling! When you can’t RUN an offense, you can PASS the blame to the coaches! By playing Monday Morning Quarterback, I have come up with some new plays to send to the head coach before our season totally collapses. Hopefully, the added "playbook" will keep the Surrender Cobra from striking our fanbase again this year!
