Football, or the beautiful sport how it is called nowadays has its origins from the japanese empire, around the year 600AD. Until now, this sport has evolved a lot, from rules, to teams and championships. World cups, champions league, Serie A, La liga, Premier League are some of the names of the most important football events.
In Romania, football has seen moments of untouchable glory🎆✨, such as the winning of UCL in 1986 by Steaua Bucharest, and it has given players of undebatable value such as Gheorghe Hagi, Gheorghe (Gica) Popescu, Dan Petrescu or Adrian Mutu. In the Romanian National team, the players with the most appearances are Dorinel Munteanu (134), Gheorghe Hagi (125), Gheorghe Popescu (115), László Bölöni (101) and Răzvan Raț (100). Now, the Romanian top tier is called Superliga and has 16 teams, with the champions going to the 1st round UCL qualifiers.
