Geocache Description:

All Saints Church, Whiteparish is a Grade II* listed building. It is in regular use and open most days during daylight hours. There is plenty of parking space nearby.

The oldest part, now the chancel, is of Saxon origin. The nave was added in Norman times, so doubtless had a rounded Norman arch. However, that was later rebuilt, but not very well. It now looks asymmetrical, which gives it a certain charm. Side aisles were added in subsequent centuries.

Like many village churches, it was extensively altered in the 19th century. The old box pews were removed and replaced (pew rents may have been abolished or greatly reduced at the same time). The west gallery was taken out. This was all happening in about 1870, by which time the days of using the gallery for a mix of instrumentalists and singers would have been long gone.

To find the cache, first make your way to the posted coordinates in the graveyard where you will find two large tombstones. These  mark the graves of members of the Eyre family, who were local landowners. Members of the family had held various official positions locally.  If the church is open do take the time to visit and look at the memorial plaque inside. There is a nearby landmark on Pepperbox hill, known as "Eyre's folly", where you can find another geocache (https://coord.info/GC273C).

At Waypoint 1 (Posted coordinates):

Gyles Eyre was first elected to Parliament in the year 1ABC (take care reading the last digit!)

Then go to "Kylie's bench" at Waypoint 2.   She died DE.F.GH

The cache can be found a short walk away at:  N 51° 00. FB(C+E)   W001° 39. (E-D)GH

The sum of all the digits equals 37.
