Due to glacial activity, elevation and geology, there are unique wetlands and a Pine Barrens ecosystem to explore. Here you will find peat bogs and swamps as well as mesic till barrens which contain pitch pines, scrub oak, sweet fern and goldenrod. Here you may see northern harriers, bobcats and mink, as well as rare wildflowers. Nearby, information can be obtained about the geology and unusual plant and animal life native to this plateau.
