The Wildlands Conservancy protects high conservation value lands in the Lehigh River Watershed, which includes this portion of the Pocono Plateau. This particular preserve is special due to its providing habitat for the Northern Flying Squirrel, who lives here, at the very southern tip of its range. Unlike its common cousin, the Southern Flying squirrel, this species is endangered in Pa. Wildlands conserves more than 60,000 acres. This property includes Two Mile Run, a stream filtered by bogs, fens and swamps as it flows into the Tobyhanna Creek to the Lehigh River. Walk and you may find one of the largest spruce forests in PA. This property also managed by The Nature Conservancy and Tobyhanna Twp.
