Welcome to one of the most scenic spots along Alligator Alley! This new observation tower offers sweeping views of the Florida Everglades — a vast, slow-moving “River of Grass” that stretches from Lake Okeechobee to Florida Bay. From this elevated perch, you can often spot herons, egrets, alligators, and endless sawgrass shimmering in the breeze.
The Everglades is one of the most unique ecosystems on Earth, home to hundreds of bird species and rare wildlife like the Florida panther and American crocodile. This fragile environment depends on a delicate flow of freshwater, making ongoing restoration efforts vital to its survival.
The tower was built to give visitors a new perspective of this remarkable landscape. Down below you’ll find plenty of parking, clean restrooms, a playground for young children, and an information center where you can learn more about local wildlife and history.
Alligator Alley — officially Interstate 75 — was completed in 1968, linking Naples and Fort Lauderdale. Once controversial for cutting through the Everglades, it has since been improved with wildlife crossings and bridges to help protect native species while keeping Florida connected.
Take a few moments to enjoy the peaceful view from above, listen to the calls of the marsh, and appreciate the wild heart of South Florida. Somewhere up here, a tiny magnetic cache awaits discovery. Please be discreet and replace it exactly as found.
Note: The tower and cache are only accessible from dawn to dusk. No night caching allowed. Enjoy your visit, and happy caching!
