The $4.6 million, 450 sq.m. British Columbia Visitor Centre at Peace Arch was a stunning facility showcasing British Columbia wood products to more than 3 million visitors that pass through the Peace Arch border crossing every year. The facility opened to the public in February 2009.
The Centre was permanently closed on October 25, 2022 due to a shift in government strategy towards digital information delivery and evolving visitor needs, rather than a specific building issue. The province determined that this change would allow for a more efficient allocation of resources.
