We're late, we're late for a very important date!
Yep, we have had to shift a week this year to accommodate Scoot's schedule as a very important educational professional appearing in DC this week. Other than that, things will be much the same. Scoot is a Fredericksburg native and we usually get to town a couple of times a year to visit with her family, but we are always here for Thanksgiving, except for this year, obviously. Since 2003, we have been sneaking off of from home to cache in the area and get into the holiday spirit. Through geocaching we have discovered many great locations around town through the years and I feel that the local geocachers have really given us a great education on many of the hidden treasures Fredericksburg has to offer, from the parks to the trails to the awesome frozen custard. Although, we've been lucky enough to meet some of you out in the world and at this event over the years, we always look forward to meeting more folks from the Geocaching community and seeing old friends. So, once again, Scoot, Liam and I decided to put this event together in hopes that we could spend some time with our friends in the local geocaching community, maybe meet some new folks and offer our thanks in person, plus it, normally, gives us another opportunity to show off our littlest cacher who, to be fair, is now 15 and bigger than half the folks attending. Sadly, his eminence Sir Liam will not be with us as he has three separate Jazz concerts to perform this week.
Whether you are a long time cacher or have just started, a local or passing through on your way to visit your family for the holidays, we ask that you please come on down and join us for a meet and greet in historic Fredericksburg, just minutes off I-95 for you travelers. The kind folks at the local mall on Route 3 have agreed to let us use their food court once again to get together and tell some stories about geocaching and get to know each other a little better. We will kick things off around 6:30 and be there till at least 7:00 although we often go over on time.
We look forward to getting to know you better, if there are any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. We would ask that you please RSVP via a "will attend" to the cache page.
