How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

You won't find a container of goodies here. Instead the goal is to get your picture taken! Sample photo below.
This cache requires a team effort!

What you will need in addition to your GPSr

· An assistant - Someone who can run the computer and capture your image while you wave.
· Practice - Teach your assistant how to capture a Jpeg image (this is the hardest part!).
· Communications - A cell phone or set time when you will be at the cache site.
· Patience - For you while you get in position and smile. For your assistant as they wait for the picture to update. (OK, maybe this is the hardest part)

How to claim this webcam virtual cache:
· Go to the coordinates of this cache. Call your assistant and have them go to the webcam page at (visit link)
· Have your assistant reposition the camera if nessary. I must see you your gpsr and the time.
· Smile for the camera and wait for an update! (the lower static image updates about every 10 minutes but if you follow the 'Suggestion' below you can grab a frame from the streaming video from the upper image)
· When your assistant sees a good webcam picture, have them save the picture to the computer. (see 'Suggestion' below)
· Found it! logs without proper pictures will be deleted. Don't log it until you have your picture ready for upload.

Suggestion:
Before you go out on your geocache you should practice with your assistant on how to capture an image from the Streaming Video. (These instructions are for Windows)
· When the image is displaying that you wish to capture press the "PRINT SCREEN" button on your keyboard. (This will put the image in your clipboard)
· Open Microsoft Paint that should be under Start|Programs|Accessories|Paint (Or you can use your own fancy graphic editing software)
· Go to EDIT and select "PASTE" (or just press CTRL-V)
· You should now see the entire web page inside Paint
· You can just have your assistant save this file for your later editing if you so chose
· Next CROP the image you want from the full page and save this new image as a .JPG, or .GIF file so it can be uploaded with you logged find. (If you have trouble with this feel free to email me for help)
