A few years ago, GeePa and I were on our way to a Texas Challenge. He is working on his Texas counties challenge and wanted to travel on roads that weren't the direct path. My wife has the FindMy app and called me to voice her concern that we were taking a "Circuitous Route" to get there.
GeePa and I were amused at the term and vowed one day to publish a cache with that name. Well, this is it and I hope you enjoy taking the circuitous route to get this cache.
The cache is in the Orchard Cemetery.
The posted coordinates take you to the grave of an infant, Merlin Sam Grigar, who sadly lived for only three days. Face the headstone. If he died on September 2nd, turn 90 degrees left. If little Merlin died on September 22nd, turn 90 degrees right. After that is done, walk 22 steps until you come to the headstone of John Proctor. Face the headstone. If he was a fireman, you will move forward. If he was a woodman, you will move behind you. Take 48 steps in the appropriate direction. You should now see the Coffman headstone. Face it. If Jim is buried there, you will turn 90 degrees right. If Dewey is buried there, turn 90 degrees left. Take 27 steps until you reach the Reaves marker. The cache is just above head high.
