Cache is not at the posted coordinates, but it is where you should start. If you want to optionally help with my project see the directions below. If you just want to find the lettebox, follow the distance and bearing, provided in the green text box below, from the posted coordinates.
Hi! For my experiment, I want to compare the GPS accuracy of different devices. Please come and help me! The sooner you come the better!!! Tell your friends too! We need more data.
Posted coordinates go to the control point for the science experiment. Directions to the letterbox are also below. Park at the waypoint not on the highway!! Bring your own pen and trade fairly.
Instructions:
- Go to the posted coordinates.
- Look for a brass cap set in the concrete. This is the control point with known coordinates. It is not the cache. Look don't touch.
- Once you are there, please hold your device directly over the brass cap.
- Wait 5 mins or until GPS stabilizes.
In your log, please answer these questions:
- What kind of device do you have? (i.e. iPhone 12 Pro, Google Pixel 6, Garmin Etrex)
- If you are using a phone, what app are you using? (i.e. Geocaching app or something else.)
- What time is it?
- What is the sky like? (i.e. cloudy, clear, partly cloudy, hazy, etc)
With the device over the brass cap, open the compass:
- How far away does your compass say you are? (Blue underlined number in example below)
- What is the +/- error range on the compass? (Red underlined number in example below)
- Add your results to the log--screenshot works too. :)

FIELD NOTE: The letterbox cache container is located about 312 feet at a bearing of 7.68° by a canal inlet structure under a rock . Good luck!! Letterbox stamp is attached to log container lid.
