OMG! Has it been 7 years since our last Christmas gathering?!? It's time to fix that.
This is the first time I have lived in the 417 area for Christmas in 10 years, I am so thrilled to be back. I'd love to get together to share some time with my people (that's you, my geocaching folks).
I'm going to keep it simple with a throwback to OMG parties of old:

This year's Christmas party will be held at Big Whiskey's. It will begin at 6:30 PM and be over around 8:00 PM (possibly later).
We will start off with eating, sitting around and chatting with geofriends
Play a christmas game to see who gets the event's Christmas Gift FTF
We will announce geocaching milestones (please log a "Will Attend" to be included in the milestones).
And to end the event we will play a game of white elephant.
For those who don't know what is a White Elephant. Here is how the game works is this:
- Anyone who wants to play will bring a WRAPPED gift that is worth between $10 to $15. The gift does not have to be brand-new, but if it isn't, please make sure it is at least "gently used" and family-friendly.
- The gifts will be placed together on a table, and then anyone who brings a gift will get to draw a random number.
- Whoever drew #1 will get to pick the first gift. They will unwrap it in front of everyone and then hold on to the gift.
- Whoever drew #2 goes next. That person can either "steal" the gift from Person #1, or pick another gift and unwrap it.
- If Person #1 had their gift "stolen" from Person #2, they get to pick another gift to unwrap and then hold on to that gift. They cannot immediately "steal" their gift back. However, if later on in the game the opportunity comes to "steal" a gift back, that is allowable, as long as the gift hasn't been "stolen" more than three times.
- Person #3 will do the same thing, either "steal" another gift or choosing to unwrap a new gift.
- As mentioned above, each gift can only be "stolen" THREE times. After it has been "stolen" a third time, whoever "stole" it last gets to keep it.
- After everyone has had the opportunity to "steal" a gift or unwrap a new one, Person #1 will get an opportunity to either keep their gift or "steal" someone else's.
If you are bringing a gift, note that it does NOT have to be geocaching related, but creative cache containers would be good gifts for this game. The game is optional and you don't need to tell me in advance if you are bringing a gift. If you don't bring a gift, feel free to watch the fun!
I "shopped" around for a location for this event and this location worked the best with some limitations in my schedule. There will be an 18% gratuity added to our table for being a potentionally large group. I'm planning to provide the table with appetizers. Please don't feel obligated to order dinner or drinks in order attend the event.
