The main feature here in Tower Park is a beautifully restored, historic 1930 Rock Island Railroad caboose.
This piece of railroad history was acquired and preserved by the Epworth Historical Society. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad ("the Rock Island Line") was a major rail company that had a significant impact on local development and transportation throughout Iowa.
The caboose serves as a physical reminder of the vital role railroads played in connecting communities like ours across the American heartland.
- Note to Finders: While interesting to look at, the caboose doors are locked. The cache is hidden on the train but not inside.
