This pavilion provides a lovely view of the southernmost shore of Staten Island. And it's fierce! We have been occasional geocachers for years and this is our first geocache hide! We wanted to make a geocache on a part of the island where there weren't many others.
We walked along the beach to get here past old Surf Avenue, it used to extend farther than it does now along the shore. You can see the old streetlights and the blacktop is still underneath the sand. There are also the remains of an old pier from the former yacht club. There's also a big hunk of concrete on the shore nice for lying on :)
Long live tina!
