Bowenville technichally has two rest stops, Bowenville Reserve and Bowenville Park. Oakey Creek runs beside Bowenville Reserve, Wainui and is a great place for an overnihht stay; whilst Bowenville Park is more of a short term stop. It is where I like to go for a wander aound the open space, and usually check out the museum style railway station.
Just a heads up thst the rest stop signage on the Warrego Hwy indicates there are toilets, which is true, but I've stopped by a few times lately (October/November 2025) to discover them padlocked shut during listed opening hours.
