Welcome to the "The 12 Days of Cachemas," a cache series running from December 25 through January 5 modeled after a familiar Christmas song. Starting on December 25th, one new cache in this series will be released each day, until the song is complete. Each cache in this series will contain a clue. Collect all the clues in order to figure out the location of the bonus cache, which will publish on January 6.
On Christmas Eve the fishes sing,
In carols bubbled, fins a-fling,
With tinsel kelp and coral trees,
They deck the halls beneath the seas.
The cod wear hats, the carp say “cheers,”
The shrimp pull sleds instead of deer,
And Santa swims with jolly swish—
Merry Fishmas to you… and gill-tid fish! 🎄🐟
I chased a red herring down a twisting trail,
A fish in a trench coat, flipping clues for a tail.
Just when I thought I’d cracked the case clean,
It vanished in smoke—misdirection supreme.
Turns out the clue wasn’t meant to be caught,
Just salted and dangled to muddle my thought.
So whether it’s fish or a lead that’s absurd,
I bit the red herring—on hook and on word.
