This all started with Shelob's Hallway in the Caversham Tunnel, which was closed by DCC a few short years after placement. The mission to re-open both Caversham Tunnel and Chain Hills Tunnel as a Shared Path Cycley began soon after.
The Dunedin Tunnels Trail Trust was formed in 2009 with the goal of a Shared Path Cycleway between Mosgiel and Dunedin. We now have success with Stage One with just Chain Hills tunnel, but work continues apace, to eventually link up to Caversham tunnel.
