Yes, birds absolutely sit, but their "sitting" looks different from ours because they usually perch, hunching down on their legs with toes automatically gripping, which allows them to rest or sleep without falling off, thanks to a special tendon mechanism. They can also sit on flat surfaces or lie down for things like dust baths, but resting on a perch is common for balancing and conserving energy.
This cache is located along an exceptionally beautiful new trail within Los Flores Ranch Park. There are brief and steep switchbacks along parts of the trail but the scenery and serenity you'll experience far outweigh any challenging terrain you may encounter!
See below for trailhead waypoints. I enjoy hiking a 4 mile "loop" up the East La Cuesta trail then along the Basin trail to the highest waypoint (01) and it's generally downhill from there. Remember to wear appropriate hiking attire, sunscreen, and bring plenty of water along with your writing tools!
**NOTE: Cell reception within the park is sporadic. Bookmarking and downloading for offline use of this cache and others at the park prior to arrival is strongly advised. See this Los Flores Ranch Park Bookmark List.**
