Welcome to Daufuskie Island,
where you'll need a floating craft of some sort to get here.
Our caches are terrain 5 but are more like a 1-1/2, once you get here.
This cache is part of an historical trail.

Indigo blue was a "huge" industry on Daufuskie way back when. It was once a hub for indigo trade in the 18th century. Planters here grew indigo plants, processed them into dye, and exported to Europe for textile production. It was a major cash crop, rivaling rice, but hurricanes and pests hit hard, and by the 19th century, synthetic dyes killed the market. Now, it’s more about Gullah culture and lowcountry vibes than farming.
This cache was hidden in the manner in which it was hidden with the express blessings from Rhonda Davis, property owner.
