富士見台は昭和55年、比治山の南西端に整備された展望台で、かつては大型バスが乗り付け、売店も営業する比治山を代表する観光スポットでした。現在も西方向（市街地）と、南方向（広島湾）の眺望に長けており、夕陽ポイントとして人気があります。
"Fujimi-dai" is an observation deck constructed in 1980 on the southwestern tip of Hijiyama Hill. It was once one of Hijiyama's most prominent tourist spots, where large tour buses would arrive and a souvenir shop was in operation. Currently, it remains popular as a sunset viewing spot due to its excellent vistas to the west (city area) and to the south (Hiroshima Bay).
富士見台という名前は、広島湾に浮かぶ似島（にのしま）の愛称である安芸の小富士を一望できることに由来しています。比治山の麓にも富士見町という地名があり、こちらもかつては安芸の小富士が遠望できていたと推測されます。
Its name, "Fujimi-dai" (literally "Mt. Fuji-viewing platform"), comes from the fact that it offers a superb view of Aki-no-Kofuji (Little Mt. Fuji of Aki), which is the nickname for Ninoshima Island floating in Hiroshima Bay. It is speculated that the place name "Fujimi-cho" (Mt. Fuji-viewing town), located at the base of Hijiyama Hill, also originates from the fact that one could once view Aki-no-Kofuji from there.
