The history of the ferry in Kirkland, Washington, is deeply intertwined with the city's growth and development. The first public ferry on Lake Washington, the King County of Kent, was introduced in 1900, providing a direct run between Kirkland and Madison Park. This service was crucial for the community's transportation needs and contributed to the area's rapid growth. The ferries operated continuously from Marina Park's city dock to Seattle, running 18 hours a day, until the opening of the Lake Washington Floating Bridge in 1940. This bridge signaled the end of the lake ferries, marking a significant change in the transportation landscape of Kirkland. Despite the decline, the ferries played a vital role in attracting new residents to the area and were a symbol of prosperity and growth for the community. And later on the feery got abandon till this day.
