Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 12 Days of Cachemas!

Omaha-area cachers will place 12 caches all over the Omaha metro area, one on each day from December 13-24. You can expect a variety of types of hides and containers, and keep in mind that the caches will publish at different times of the day. Some will be more challenging than others, but none will be higher than 2.5 in D or T.

Thank you to the COs who are volunteering their time and effort to make this a fun event for us all to enjoy!

Each cache will each contain an FTF prize in the shape of a Christmas ornament. If you get an FTF and collect the ornament and get another FTF on another day, you can decide to leave the ornament for the STF or take it for yourself. The spirit of Christmas says let another geocacher have the joy of an ornament.

About the Cache & GZ

We learned that the 7th day didn't have a hide yet. Not sure why, but we offered to fill in. So we're quickly making one today...on the 7th day...in the cold wind, then rapid-coding the page from our car!

Ironically, the item we placed here came bouncing down the street yesterday (Dec 18th) in 60 MPH winds. At first we thought it was just a ball, so image our surprise when we realized it was a decoration. We tried to figure out where it came from but could only guess. So, it's been spray painted to hide all the places the paint got knocked off (it used to be bright red) & stuck it in a big tree large enough to support such a monstrosity. It's along the ROW of a dirt road, but please note there is construction going on across the street during the day, so stealth will be required. The T rating may be aslightly higher or lower depending on your way in/out, as there is a slower, easier route & a quicker, harder route to GZ. Please be careful to park at the top of the hill or halfway down the hill so traffic doesn't crest the hill & immediately slam into a parked car they couldn't see or have time to react to.
