Donut Dolly
"Donut Dolly" was the nickname for young, single Red Cross ladies who provided morale-boosting recreation and refreshments to soldiers during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. They provided normal, fun activities like snacks and card games, helping soldiers maintain a connection to the world beyond the war.
This donut establishment is my absolute favorite type of doughnut, but I only want ONE, fresh and hot off the conveyor! Otherwise, I often cut through their parking lot as a shortcut home.
The container is a souvenir of my trip to Geowoodstock in West Virginia in 2025. We made a day trip to the northern panhandle and crossed into Ohio, where we found a massive two-story candy store (where there was a cache! GCAEGAN BCBFGT-Fat Apple (Traditional Cache) in Ohio, United States created by VisitBelmontCounty). You can't go into a candy store and not buy candy, so I chose some that had a cool container. Please be stealthy as you replace the container.
