The ranger and myself will be on site for the 3 hour duration of this CITO event
but please feel free to turn up whenever is convenient and just stay as long as you wish - all help is welcome.
🌿 COPPICING HAZEL AT GREEN LANE RESERVE 🌿
Parking: There is some on street parking on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby).
Where: We will meet up at 09:30 at the start of the footpath that leads to Green Lane (see waypoint); or if arriving later in the morning come and find us coppicing in the Reserve, near the CITO coordinates.
What: Join us coppicing hazel at Green Lane. We will be harvesting stakes and binders to use in hedgerow restoration projects at Hucclecote Meadows SSSI later this month. Coppicing the hazel also encourages new growth.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring work gloves if possible.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please think about bringing a drink and a snack for breaktime if desired - homemade cake will be provided 🙂
