This cache is part of a set of three new geocaches that allow you to stop and admire the scenic viewpoint on the hilltop in the middle of the three caches. Due to yellow lines, dangerous highway speeds and no turn-off markings on the road, you can't access the scenic view geocache driving north. Don't be an idiot and try and do this. Instead head north to this U-turn location. Pull in here, grab the geocache conveniently located for your numbers run. Then safely turn around, wait for the 100km/hr traffic is clear and head back south to the scenic lookout geocache (GCBGPJR). Then carry on south to Soldiers Road where you will find the third geocache in this short series. Sign that one, approach the state highway again, wait until all vehicles in both directions have gone past and then carry on north once more. Easy really if you activate your brain.
If heading south from Mangaweka township only cross the road into this side lane if the traffic is clear in both directions or else you will annoy a lot of people and risk getting tailgated. Instead head south to the scenic lookout geocache (GCBGPJR), do that cache first, then on to Soldiers Road to do that geocache second, then come back north to do this one third. After that you can head south once more when the road is clear of all traffic and its safe to do so. Please be sensible here. This is a busy state highway and no geocache is worth dying for. Done properly and you will get three caches for your tally.
