The ranger and myself will be on site for the 3 hour duration of this CITO event
however please feel free to turn up whenever is convenient and just stay as long as you wish - all help is welcome.
🌿 WILLOW CLEARANCE, TREE CARE OR MULCHING AT HORSBERE RESERVE 🌿
Parking: Parking is available at the main entrance to Horsbere Reserve (see waypoint Parking area / Meet-up point).
Where: Meet up 09:30 by the main gates to Horsbere Reserve or if arriving later in the morning please come and find us working in the Reserve. Look out for updates on the cache page with our exact position.
What: There are always plenty of varied jobs to be done at Horsbere Nature Reserve. Today's task will be dependent on the weather and ground conditions, also progress made during earlier CITO sessions here. If the water level in the pond permits, we will be continuing the annual willow clearance, otherwise we will be either spreading mulch around the new hedgerow and young trees, or carrying out other tree care tasks. I will update this page nearer the time with further details.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring work gloves if possible.
Health and Safety: The CITO session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
You may like to bring a drink / snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided 🙂
