TERRAIN RATING
The terrain rating is 1.5 if you stay on the sand, off the rocks, and if you are collecting trash on the rocks of the jetty it is rated higher, for this even it is set at T4. Note that the rocks can be very slippery and can be dangerous. WET ROCKS ARE slippery, and may/will result in slips and possible injury. Wear adequate footwear. You may get wet. Protect yourself and your GPS or smartphone. Regarding the terrain rating, the choice is yours! Either way, bring plenty water and wear a hat and apply sunscreen.
WHERE YOU FIND THE GEOCACHER GROUP
Cachers tend to spread out in a number of smaller groups along the jetty (the rocky area). Look for people wearing geocaching gear or apparel. Remember, you are one of us, and all cachers look alike.
THE LOG
The log will be comprised of a unique item from todays trash collection. The event host will bring sharpies to sign a log.
EARNING YOUR SMILIE
Should you arrive late, or simply DNF the CITO crew (sometimes we blend in with the muggle crowd quite well), if you attended the Save Our Beach cleanup and filled a bag of trash you earned your smilie. Selfies are desired but not required.
EARNING COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
Students are eligible for up to three community service hours. Ask "Save our Beach" at the Blue Canopy in the parking lot for the paper you need.
