Geocache Description:

Mount Pleasant is a town situated in the Barossa Council, just north of the Adelaide Hills region, 55 kilometres east-northeast of Adelaide.

It is located in the Barossa Council and Mid Murray Council local government areas, and is at an altitude of 440 metres above sea level with an average rainfall of 687 mm per annum.

Today's Mount Pleasant comprises three townships: Totness, Talunga and Hendryton.

Totness was surveyed in 1858, with Henry Giles Sr. as the developer; this was the section from Saleyard Road to Pentelows Road. It was named after the birthplace of Henry's wife, Mary Ann. Henry also developed North Totness, which is the land from Pentelows Road to the Walkers Flat Road, surveyed in 1869.

Established in 1860 the Totness Inn Hotel continues to serve the local community of Mount Pleasant and, having recently been restored, will be the venue on this occasion.

As the Inn has only just started supplying meals, and the development of the menu is a work in progress, there is not yet a regular menu to refer to; however many reviews speak highly of the culinary offerings.

I have booked for 15 and the cutoff for responses will be Friday 16th January at 12 Noon.

Note:

All are welcome. You can stay the entire time or just pop in ...and of course there are a plethora of caches located in the surrounding areas and regions you may travel through to attend.

Eating and drinking is optional (however please consider supporting local business!)
