2026 Hider Souvenir – Available ALL YEAR
What does it take to be a hider and earn this souvenir…
It takes YOU, and it takes our reviewer, Vertighost, but there’s a lot to do BEFORE you submit your cache to our reviewer…
Do you know…? (Keep your answer private, please.)
Geocaching recommends that you have found at least ____ Geocaches before hiding your first cache.
Have you read (or do you occasionally reread to keep up to date) the basic Guidelines for hiding a cache?
Basic Guidelines

Do you know that different countries, states and regions have some variations on the Geocaching guidelines and responsibilities?
There’s a “Regional Guidelines” WIKI
Search the Regional Guidelines WIKI until you find Texas and read them. Was there anything”New” to you?
If you also live or regularly visit another state, check it out too…
I admit, I haven’t updated my read on the basic guidelines in some time AND I wasn’t aware of this regional WIKI, but I will definitely make time to read up on Texas guidelines as well as Idaho and Oklahoma if I think I might place a cache in either of those states again.
Come ready to share your new knowledge about Texas Geocaching guidelines.
We are a friendly group that enjoy sharing stories of our Geocache experiences. We help each other if we’re having difficulty finding a cache, solving a puzzle or creating and publishing a cache.
Check us out on Facebook Rio Grande Valley Geocachers
We meet in the small dining area to your left as you enter the restaurant. Plenty of nearby parking, purchase of food and beverage is optional.
