初沢城跡の裏手にある登山口には、初沢モグラと呼ばれる珍しいモグラが生息しています。
長さ10センチの尾を持ち、紙や墨を食べます。
At the rear trailhead to the Hatsuzawa Castle Ruins a rare species of mole is found, known as the Hatsuzawa Mole.
It has a tail 10 centimeters long and eats paper and ink.
注意：すべての登山道は、寒冷時、雨天時、夜間は危険です。ハイキングシューズ、ハイキングウェアを着用し、水を携帯してください。
日没までに下山するのが最善です。時間を確認し、懐中電灯を携帯してください。
警告：日本ではクマによる被害が増加しています。熊鈴を携帯することで、クマはあなたが近くにいることを知り、あなたを避けることができます。
初沢城跡のキャッシュはループ状になっています。3つの登山口（1番、裏、2番）のどれからでも出発できます。
2番登山口からの出発または到着は、晴れた日で、急な階段に雨、雪、氷が残っていないときが最適です。日陰の部分は、他の場所で溶けた後も長い間凍ったままであることに注意してください。
近くには、N 35° 38.312 E 139° 16.940にも階段があります。ただし、通年ではなく、さらに急なようです。
Attention: All mountain trails are risky in cold or wet weather, or at night. Wear hiking footwear, hiking clothes, and carry water!
It is best to be off of the mountain by sunset, so watch the time and carry a flashlight!
Warning: Bear attacks have increased in Japan. Carrying a bear bell will let them know that you are nearby, so they can avoid you.
The Hatsuzawa Castle Ruins caches are in a loop. You can start at any of the three Trailheads (#1, Rear, #2).
Starting or ending at Trailhead #2 is best for sunny days, when there is no remaining rain, snow, or ice on the steep stairs. Remember that shaded areas remain icy, long after melting elsewhere.
There are other stairs close by at N 35° 38.312 E 139° 16.940. However, it is not open year-round and seems to be even steeper.
