Transformator je naprava, ki s pomočjo magnetnega polja pretvarja električno energijo ene izmenične napetosti in toka v električno energijo druge izmenične napetosti in toka iste frekvence. Je nepogrešljiva komponenta tako v manjših gospodinjskih aparatih kot tudi v elektrodistribucijskem omrežju.
Ta transformator je del distribucijskega omrežja Elektra Ljubljana. Njegova naloga je pretvorba srednje napetosti (20 kV) v nizko napetost (400 / 230 V), s katero se napajajo okoliške zgradbe.
Čeprav je transformatorska postaja zaklenjena, nikoli ne poskušajte vstopiti vanjo. Cache je dostopen izključno od zunaj in ne zahteva nobenega poseganja v objekt.

This transformer is part of the Elektr Ljubljana distribution network. Its purpose is to convert medium voltage (20 kV) into low voltage (400 / 230 V), which supplies the surrounding buildings.
