Geocache Description:

Opposite Day is

a fun, unofficial holiday, typically celebrated on January 25th, where people say and do the reverse of what they normally would, like saying "goodbye" to mean "hello," eating dessert first, or wearing clothes backward, all to create silliness and encourage creativity, vocabulary, and perspective-taking. It's a lighthearted event that challenges normal communication and actions, often involving kids and schools.

Key Aspects

  • Concept: Saying "yes" to mean "no," wearing clothes inside out, reversing daily routines, or generally acting contrary to expectations.
  • Purpose: To have fun, build vocabulary (antonyms), enhance comprehension, and foster creative thinking.
  • Activities: Eating dinner for breakfast, walking backward, telling nonsensical stories, or playing games with reversed rules.
  • Paradox: The self-referential nature of declaring it "Opposite Day" creates a fun paradox, as it's not really opposite day if everyone agrees it's opposite day.
  • Date:

Most commonly January 25th, though some sources mention January 7th or the 25th of any month

So if it is Opposite Day what time is the event really!!!

Food/drink purchases are totally optional)
