Bartlett's Ford is one of the EtherClan's favourite camping locations.
Cheese platter o'clock, suitable beverages while roasting marshmallows over campfires, swimming in the river, and counting satellites and shooting stars till zero-dark-thirty are my version of bliss.
2026 marks the 8th year the EtherClan have pilgrimaged here, and over the course of the week we were joined for all or part by the Seagnoid, ThatDarnBear+Slotheryn+UnicornLex, TwigNZ, SARD0G, Stardust718, PnE, and Eriallo, along with a couple of our muggle mates.
Bartlett's Ford is a Manawatu District Council location where the only things supplied are a longdrop toilet, room for the kids to kick a ball, an excellent swimming hole, and an absence of camping fees!
The downside of no camping fees is that you need to bring everything with you, including drinking water, the kitchen sink, and wood for a camp fire.
This cache is located along Terrace Road, on the way to Bartlett's Ford, and is best accessed when heading **up hill**
