12th Feburary - Hit back the growth before Spring at Netheridge
The session is set for 3 hours, but only me and the ranger have to stay till the end!
Please do feel free to pop along and only stay for as long as you want.
Parking: Is provided at the relevant waypoint.
Where: Find us at the parking waypoint at 1300 or else find us on the reserve - I will create a new waypoint to confirm our where we are working site once there.
What: Not yet sure what we will be doing, however it's likely to involve bramble, willow or hazel. We also need to beat the clock as spring will soon be coming, especially with the weather behaving as it is!
How: The warden will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have loppers, and a saw please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have them as the warden will have a supply too, but we will need you to log that you require tools.
If it has recently rained the site does tend to hold water and so wellies are advised.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Gloucester County Council insurance as long as you are working under the warden's instruction.
Dogs: This is a nature reserve with Swan's nesting on the pond, in addition to wild deer roaming the area. If your dogs are reactive to wildlife then they unfortunately are not able to come to this site.
Lastly please make sure you bring along your own refreshments, it can be thirsty work!
