Barlow Road is a nice shortcut over to Woods Road and cuts out a little bit of the elevation gain if you're heading up to the summit. It's not without its own elevation, though -- especially on the return. But there are beautiful views from here and it's a nice combination of sun and shade.
This cache is placed at a cool fallen tree that caught my interest because of the mushrooms on both the stump and the fallen trunk. I hope they stick around, but I suspect they'll dry up in the summer. Access to the cache requires just one or two easy steps up the bank to the mushroom stump. You're looking for a small container with the usual camo.
Sierra Azul OSP is open half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. The nearest parking for this cache is the new(ish) Bald Mountain parking lot on Mt. Umunhum Road. Happy hunting!
