Gilead Chapel is on Heol Spencer, Coity, right across the road from the Castle Entrance. It appears that it was originally a small room (now the vestry) built of stone and mortar. It was a ‘’Meeting Place’’ or ‘’Meeting House’’ as a place of worship formed by the Independent denomination and built on land rented by a John Bennett of Laleston House, Laleston. (The Squire) The number of people attending this meeting house being between 20 and 40 coming from the surrounding areas and as far afield as Llantwit Major, Llanharan, Pencoed, Laleston and Heol Y Cyw.
Standing at the coordinates you will see several commemorative stones in the COMMUNITY HALL wall, mostly they have eroded away, but two are still intact. One lists the officers of the church (Swyddogion) and the other contains a date - Hydref AB CDEF
From these numbers fill in this formula to find the final location of the cache. It's a short walk away, approach from the south, despite appearances it IS a legal right of way, the pole is still there even if the Public Footpath signs aren't.
