Groundhogs day is an event in the US and Canada from Pennsylvania Dutch lore that says if the groundhog sees his shadow on this day (February 2nd) that winter will continue for six more weeks. If he doesn't see his shadow, it means that an early spring.
There was a rom-com movie named Groundhogs Day starring Bill Murray and Andie McDowell in 1993 where Murray is a reporter who keeps waking up and every day is Groundhogs Day.
This leads us to the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meetings that are held annually the first weekend in May in sunny Omaha, Nebraska. Usually, shareholders meetings will bore people to death. (Our third quarter profits were 3.27% below expected predictions.) Not with its founder Warren Buffett. These shareholder meetings are like a carnival with all the companies under the Berkshire Hathaway umbrella present and everybody is having fun. In fact, it's been dubbed the Woodstock for Capitalists. Among the many festivities, is a movie made for the event. One year, Bill Murray was in a Groundhogs Day like movie short with Warren Buffett. Buffett keeps waking up and tries to get into his office but is met by a security guard, Bill Murray, who won't let him in because Buffett keeps forgetting his Berkshire credentials.
