SLO:Po kapitulaciji jugoslovanske kraljeve vojske 17. aprila 1941 so si okupacijske sile razdelile slovensko ozemlje. Meja med Nemčijo in Italijo je imela dva kraka – zahodno in vzhodno od Ljubljane. Zahodni krak je potekal severno in zahodno od Ljubljane prek Polhograjskega hribovja do nekdanje rapalske meje med Žirmi in Idrijo, od tu pa je proti severu sledil nekdanji rapalski meji do nekdanje tromeje med Italijo, Jugoslavijo in Avstrijo. Nemci so mejo utrdili in zastražili z minskimi polji, žičnatimi ograjami, stražnimi stolpi in bunkerji. Kjer je šla meja skozi gozd, so ga izsekali približno 50 metrov na široko, s čimer so omogočili boljši nadzor. After the capitulation of the Yugoslav Royal Army on April 17, 1941, the occupying forces divided Slovenian territory. The border between Germany and Italy had two branches - west and east of Ljubljana. The western branch ran north and west of Ljubljana through the Polhograd Hills to the former Rapallo border between Žirmi and Idrija, and from there it followed the former Rapallo border north to the former triple border between Italy, Yugoslavia and Austria. The Germans fortified and guarded the border with minefields, wire fences, watchtowers and bunkers.
