THE GEOCACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES, but is less than a quarter mile from the starting coordinates, located along the Ice Age Trail; see below for directions. This is the second of three caches placed along this trail segment for the 2026 West Bend $1,000 Cache Ba$h, with this year's theme being "All Things Wisconsin."
It is suggested to start at parking at N43 25.171 W88 12.980. To find them in order, start at 2602 Wisconsin Map Quest (GCBQFJP), followed by 2603 Ice Age Trail Photo Op (GCBQFK3), followed by 2604 Bigfoot (GCBQFJZ).
This is also a letterbox hybrid cache. Letterboxing is another outdoor activity in which people follow clues or a story (instead of coordinates) to find a container and then put their personal stamp in the logbook and then stamp their own journal with the stamp from the cache. Rather than just coordinates only, this geocache will include both coordinates and clues to get you to the final location. Follow the instructions in the following paragraphs to be directed to the actual cache location. Contents include a stamp (do not take) for letterboxing, as well as a log book and swag for geocachers and letterboxers.
YOUR ADVENTURE AWAITS
1. The starting coordinates are N43 24.990 W88 12.988, about .20 of a mile south of the parking lot. You'll be walking along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, the longest trail in the state, with great scenic views all along the way. There's a fun photo op here: a man-made "waterfall" over Silver Creek with amazing scenery. You can stand in the middle of the creek on the platform and not get wet!
The Ice Age National Scenic Trail
The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is one of only 11 national scenic trails in the U.S. Although approx. 1,200 miles long, the entire trail is located within only one state: Wisconsin! Tracing the edge of the glaciers that covered much of Wisconsin during the Ice Age, this long-distance trail travels from Sturgeon Bay, near the shores of Lake Michigan, to St. Croix Falls, on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. And it cuts through the area RIGHT HERE. The entire trail throughout the state is marked by yellow “blaze” rectangles to direct you along the way. You’ll encounter some of these markers while walking 1,240 feet (.23 of a mile) from the waterfall to the cache. Essentially just follow the markers to the cache.

2. From the waterfall, walk south about 713 feet (.14 of a mile) and you’ll be passing up another new geocache: 2604 Bigfoot (GCBQFJZ). You might want to grab that one while you're at it before continuing along. Otherwise you could look for it on the way back.
3. Continue south along the Ice Age Trail and when you're .16 miles past the waterfall you'll pass a nice open air shelter on your left, at N43 24.850 W88 13.043. You're almost done. No need to stop there, unless you want to rest for a spell in the shade.
4. Continue south on the trail another 405 feet until you come to a tree on your left with a yellow blaze marker on each side, at N43 24.789 W88 13.043. Now you're really almost done! On your left (east) is Silver Creek. Don't go there. Go right (W/NW) off trail 33 feet uphill from that yellow marker and you’ll find the cache hiding behind a huge 40 foot long log, on the ground. You’re done!
