Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Lake Norris Conservation Area. It requires about a 1.2 mile hike in, through woods and swampland.

I discovered this spot a month or so ago, and thought it would be a great place to hide a cache. The cache is located near Lake Norris in the Lake Norris Conservation Area. The Lake Norris Conservation Area is a 2280 acre piece of property owned by the St. John's River Water Management District, and managed by the Lake County Water Authority. Access is open 7 days a week sun up to sun down. There are picnic tables in the area of the cache site, so pack a lunch and plan to spend a few hours. It is a beautiful spot for a picnic.

The cache can be accessed by water, or by land, land is the easiest. The Lake County Water Authority provides use of canoes free of charge, for use on Lake Norris and Blackwater Creek. They do require a $50 deposit for each canoe that is rented, and the deposit is refunded upon verification that all the equipment was returned in proper order. You can contact the Lake County Water Authority at 352-343-3777 for more information.

The trail back to the cache area is not the best in the world. The blaze orange stripes marking the trail tend to be few and far between, and the trail did get a little mushy in a few places. But, if you take the trail, and you are quiet, you are almost guaranteed to see wildlife. On my hike in to place the cache, I saw 3 deer, all were within 50 feet before I spooked them; and I walked right past, and within 25 feet of a group of 6 very large wild turkeys. So I would recommend hiking the trail as opposed to the road, although they both end up the same place.

The coordinates listed on this page are not the coordinates of the actual cache site; those will have to be deciphered when you get to the lake. The parking area for access to this cache is at N 28 54.849 W 081 32.671.

To find the actual cache coordinates you will have to do a bit of looking around the area.

You will have to answer the questions below to fill in the missing coordinates.

Question for "A": How many panes of glass should there be in the jalousie window on the south end of the building? ________

Question for "B": How many planks make up the table top of the picnic tables in the area? ________

Question for "C": How many bridges did you have to cross on the hike in? ________

Now, plug the answers to these questions into the coordinates below, to find the actual coordinates of the caches location.

The coordinates are:

N 28 55.AAB

W 081 33.BCC

Good luck finding this one, it isn't too hard, only decipher the clue if you absolutely can't find it, it is not a hard one to find.
