Geocache Description:

This is the easier of 2 caches known as the 'Pair of Zeus's' or 'Her' Mount Olympus Cache. The other one is Zeus's Roost or 'His' Mount Olympus Cache. I Recommend you bring sturdy hiking boots, water and a snack. Plan on at least 2 hours (round trip).

Check out the photos of Bunker Dave, Hunt4Elk, 220Swift and Cach-U-Nut's hike on 7/08/01.

This hike goes to a nice creek (that goes dry by about mid june) in a shady area. Please follow the trail. You don't need to leave the trail until you are right at the cache site. They are trying to re-vegetate a lot of the hillsides so please don't take shortcuts (especially on the way down). The idea behind this cache is to give a rest to people going up to Zeus's Roost but it could be a good destination on it's own. Most people would consider this a strenous hike. The distance is about .9 miles one way (1.8 round trip) and is quite steep in places. It took me an hour and 10 minutes to get to the cache site. (I am a 47 year old man in moderate shape.) I wanted to put in Reader's Digests for quick reads but I didn't have any. Instead I put in a "Quick and Easy" crossword puzzle book. Please do a puzzle or 2 and leave it for the next cacher. Be sure to write your geocache name and the date on the ones you do. There are also some power bars, a couple of pocket puzzles (interlocking rings), a rubber lizard we took from the "Lock & Key Cache", a deck of cards from St Thomas, some tissue packs, a paperback 'The Brethren' and a few other things. I thought it would be a good idea to have some knitting needles and some yarn. Each visitor could add a few stitches to a scarf and then leave it for the next hiker. Maybe one of you could bring that up.
