Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches within the Cibola National Forest. This particular cache is hidden at the top of Cedro Peak (elevation 7757 feet), with magnificent views of the surrounding Cibola Forest. The hike to this cache is a half mile walk up the service road. If you want a slightly longer hike, you can park at the Cedro Peak Campgrounds.

Driving Instructions:
From I-40, take exit 175 south to Tijeras.
From the traffic light in Tijeras follow these odometer readings.
0.0 Go south on NM 337 (aka Old Highway 14).
5.0 Turn left (east) on Juan Tomas Road.
5.7 Turn left (northward) on Forest Road 252.
7.3 Turn right at the junction towards Cedro Peak.
7.5 Park at the gate, but do not block it.

Hiking Instructions:
Hike up the service road behind the gate. The gate is just there to stop unauthorized vehicles. Hikers and bicyclers are permitted. The road will circle the hill on the way to the peak. If you're observant, you might find some fossils in the limestone.

The cache is in an ammo can.
