Near a wonderful campground, great picnic area, and access to the beach of Cook Inlet is a treasure waiting to be discovered.
It was written that Captain Cook, when exploring the Inlet, buried a bottle with a coin in it at Point Possession.
You can camp here, at The Captain Cook Campground, and ride your 4-wheeler to Point Possession.
Or you can just stroll along the beach and watch the sunset over the inlet as oil rigs glow in the distance.
This is one of my favorite places on the Kenai Peninsula. Most people never go to the end of the "North Road".
I placed an ammo box at the base of a dead tree very near the ATV parking lot. If you look around you can find the parking lot and use it as your staring spot. Or just follow the GPS.
