Located near Karick Lake in the Blackwater State Forest.
Karick Lake Fish Management area is a 65 acre artificial lake created by a dam across Deadfall Creek. It was created by the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission in 1965. It is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, shellcracker and channel catfish. Florida fishing license is required for everyone over 16 years old. The lake is located in northwest Okaloosa County in the Blackwater River State Forest, 8 miles north of Baker and 2 miles south of Blackman on Hwy 189. There are boat ramps, bathrooms, camping and picnic tables. Overnight camping requires payment of a small fee.
To get to the cache, turn east off of 189N when you see the sign pointing to the South Karick Lake Recreation Area and campground. The trailhead will be on your left, just before you enter the south recreation area. Follow the trail about +/- .30 of a mile back to the west to the area where the cache is hidden. The cache is a one gallon plastic jar, spray painted in camoflage colors.
